Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the combatants came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in round four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As both boxers participated in the usual confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
